Thoughts: Brief

Underneath the warmth of the hotel's comforter, I silently watch him pack for the airport. A few hours was all we had to spare, spending it by conversing over a hearty breakfast and poking fun at modern artwork displayed in the hotel lobby before drifting back to sleep at the hotel room. I woke up early to catch the train to go see him, he sacrificed hours of sleep just to see me. We were both tired. But all that was long forgotten once I appeared at his doorstep.

After those thirty minutes I knew that I would have to watch him leave and miss him terribly.

Thoughts: Coffee

I silently sit and take a sip from my mug, listening to you talk about your day. I notice how your eyes change as you talk. A faraway look that tells me you took the plunge. Recollecting, reminiscing... The only time the spell breaks is when you notice she isn't listening. She who has not bothered to give you a second glance for the last five minutes.

Why did you stop? I was listening. I did. I knew every single detail... how each word was strung as they fell smoothly from your mouth. Did she notice how your eyes sparkled? Did she?

But you didn't mind if she didn't.

You stopped. And I take another sip.
